Artist Studio Tour

Celebrating its 40th Anniversary serving the greater Tehachapi region, Bear Valley Springs Cultural Arts Association is presenting its second annual Artist Studios Tour on May 17. This artist studio tour offers an intimate, behind-the-scenes experience of the creative process. It provides ticket holders with the rare opportunity to step inside the working space of an artist, seeing firsthand where ideas are born, materials are transformed, and masterpieces come to life. This tour brings together local artists in a community-focused event, allowing them to share their creative journeys, techniques, and inspirations.

During the tour, visitors may witness various stages of the artistic process, from preliminary sketches to finished pieces. Artists might demonstrate their tools and methods, whether it’s painting, sculpture, photography, woodturning, silversmithing or other mediums, allowing a deeper understanding of their craft. The environment itself—filled with works in progress, tools, and materials—reveals the personal side of the artist's world, offering insights into the challenges, triumphs, and daily routines that shape their creations. This tour includes over 20 Tehachapi area artists from Bear Valley Springs to Stallion Springs to the City of Tehachapi. Several artists will be on display at Triassic Vineyards, one of this year’s sponsors.

For art enthusiasts or anyone interested in an afternoon of discovery, this experience fosters a closer connection to the work and the artists of our community, providing a sense of appreciation that goes beyond the final piece on display in a gallery or museum. It can also be an opportunity to purchase art, whether you are a seasoned collector or a first-time art buyer there is something for everyone. The artists in this year’s tour are Terry Albert, Nuri Amanatullah & Koko, Laila Asgari, Tina Dille, Rochelle Evans, Colleen Grant, Debbie Haeberle, KLEW, Alex Kosich, Denise Lewis, Greg Matheson, Mike Novotny, Boyd Nyberg, Josh Patterson, Dave Phillips, Pam Phillips, Charisse Rudolph, Kevin Stewart-Magee, Alejandra Whittier, and Deanie Zeitlin. The artists will have their studios open from 10am to 4pm on May 17. This tour is self-guided and a map will be distributed to ticket holders on the eve of the event. Tickets are $5 per person. To purchase tickets please visit www.bvscaa.org/our-events/ or you may contact BVSCAA. This event includes support from BVSCAA, Tehachapi Living Magazine, Triassic Vineyards, South Street Digital, and Mirabelle.
