Terry Albert
Terry Albert has been creating art since kindergarten. She began by copying from her storybooks. From high school she attended Whittier College where she majored in graphic arts. In her career she worked her way into the art department at companies such as Building Emporium where she did sales promotions and advertisement layouts.
Horses were her first love. Living in Long Beach didn’t give her a access to horse facilities, but then she moved to the Seattle area, where she had a larger property. She got her first horse when she was 40.
Terry left the corporate world in 1990 and spent more time on art. She has also written nine books on dog breeds.
A friend, Helga, encouraged her to come to Bear Valley Springs, and she moved here in 2021. Terry loves it here, especially having riding friends and an art community. She is well known for her depictions of pets and frequently paints people’s pets for them on commission. She has donated a beautiful painting of a deer for the raffle at the BVS Cultural Arts Show coming up on September 13.
